The Office of Off-Campus Study contracted me to collaborate with them to rewrite the main introduction and the introductions to each of the eight language schools in the
C.V. Starr-Middlebury Schools Abroad viewbook.

My approach was to reinforce the Middlebury “brand” of linguistic and cultural immersion coupled with serious academics. I focused on the types of students attracted to Middlebury’s study abroad programs—and on the program qualities that attract them. My research involved interviewing international program staff in Vermont and in nine countries around the world.
